Carolina (+8.5) at New England (Sunday, 1:00pm ET, FOX)
The New England Patriots showed that they could shut down a dynamic offense in Week Two, when they went down and frustrated Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints on the road. However, they almost took a bad home loss against Houston this past Sunday, as Deshaun Watson kept sending darts down the field to open receivers. It took another Tom Brady miracle, in the form of a late drive for a touchdown and a two-point conversion, to win the game for the Patriots. With Danny Amendola back from the concussion protocol, even if Carolina can double Chris Hogan (who torched Houston on Sunday), the Patriots have Amendola and Rob Gronkowski to catch the ball down the field. The Carolina Panthers have to have concerns about the physical and mental health of Cam Newton. He looks nothing like his 2015 self, and the fact that the Panthers could only put up 13 on a porous New Orleans defense does not bode well going forward. New England should be able to keep that Panther offense from doing a lot of damage — and Tom Brady should be able to lead the Patriot offense into the 30s or even further against Carolina.NFL Week 4 Betting Trends

Pittsburgh (-2.5) at Baltimore (Sunday, 1:00pm ET, CBS)
It’s true that the Baltimore Ravens just got shellacked by the Jacksonville Jaguars this past Sunday by a 44-7 margin. However, it’s somewhat easy to write that off to jet lag and the possibility of other distractions getting in the way of the Ravens’ preparation in the team’s first international trip. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers just went to Chicago and lost in overtime to a Bears team that, one could argue, still has yet to find an NFL-caliber quarterback, at least in terms of ability and execution today. So I find this line somewhat puzzling, because the Ravens have shown the ability to dominate divisional opposition in their first two matchups, and I would argue that losing to the Bears is a worse loss than losing to Jacksonville, especially with the travel factor involved. Joe Flacco should be able to lead the Baltimore offense up and down the field against a Pittsburgh defense that has struggled to execute consistently. I like the Ravens to win this game.NFL Week 4 Betting Trends

Philadelphia (-1) at L.A. Chargers (Sunday, 4:05pm ET, FOX)
Except for that fourth quarter against the New York Giants, Philadelphia has shown an ironclad defense through all three games so far this season. The Los Angeles Chargers haven’t shown much except for a propensity to make mistakes at the wrong time, such as those interceptions that Philip Rivers threw this past week every time it looked like the Chargers were getting within scoring range against the Kansas City Chiefs. Carson Wentz is showing signs of rounding into the next franchise quarterback for the Eagles, and his ability to spin out of trouble and find receivers down the field has helped Philadelphia each week. The Eagles’ rushing game is still a work in progress, but the Eagles can move the ball well enough to beat the Chargers on the road. While the Chargers do have a ferocious pass rush, Wentz’s mobility and the Philadelphia offensive line should neutralize that enough for the Eagles to get the win.NFL Week 4 Betting Trends
