The Atlanta Falcons have made a move to spruce up their passing game by shipping a 2025 seventh-round pick to the L.A. Rams in exchange for wide receiver Van Jefferson and a 2025 sixth-round pick. Jefferson has eight receptions for 108 yards through five weeks of the 2023 season, and the Rams had been looking for a place to ship Jefferson when the Falcons made this deal. Desmond Ridder has struggled at times running the Falcons’ offense, and adding this fourth-year receiver out of Florida could help the Falcons sustain drives without relying on Ridder and Bijan Robinson to pound the ball on the ground. Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears

As far as the Chicago offense is concerned, Justin Fields has developed into a solid passer, but the running game is still a work in progress with Khalil Herbert doubtful for this matchup. Fields and D.J. Moore put up crazy numbers last week, so expect the Vikings to double Moore and make Fields look elsewhere. Vikings to win and cover.

Detroit Lions at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The lack of a consistent running game and the propensity that Dak Prescott has for throwing picks when under duress mean that a Cowboys team that has run roughshod over three basement-dwellers has no business being favored on the road against the Chargers. L.A. offensive coordinator Kellen Moore should be ready for revenge after the Cowboys fired him in the off-season.
