NFL 2023 Week 8 Parlay Betting Picks

Written by on October 25, 2023

The Cleveland Browns have struggled their way to a 4-2 start, thanks to the defensive heroics of Myles Garrett, the clutch running of Kareem Hunt (whom the Browns plucked back off the couch after Nick Chubb went down for the season), and the decent game management of quarterback P.J. Walker, who also came in off the street to take over for Deshaun Watson. Walker led a clutch scoring drive that benefited from two awful penalty calls against the Indianapolis defense to deliver a 39-38 win on Sunday, but it’s clear that this team needs Watson to be the Watson who delivered time and time again in Houston. He started on Sunday, after missing three games due to a strained rotator cuff, and he went 1 of 5 for 5 yards and had a bad interception. He threw a second interception while being knocked down late in the first quarter, but replay overturned it. After that, he left the game and did not return. For a team that has a Super Bowl-caliber defense, the team needs to do something at the quarterback position. Going into Week 8, we have a few solid NFL Parlay Picks for you to consider.

NFL Parlay Picks in Week 8: Between Watson and Walker, the Browns have the worst quarterback play in the NFL.

NFL Parlay Picks
Las Vegas Raiders +7.5 at Detroit Lions O/U 44.5
Houston Texans -3 at Carolina Panthers O/U 41.5
L.A. Rams +6 at Dallas Cowboys O/U 45.5

Las Vegas Raiders at Detroit Lions

When: Monday Night Football, October 30 at 8:15 pm ET
Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
TV / Streaming: ESPN

The Detroit Lions went to Baltimore and took a haymaker on the chin, losing 38-6. The defense, which had shut down running offenses all season long to this point, let the Ravens run wild, and their pass rush and secondary were also sleepwalking. They get to face the Raiders in their bounceback game, though, and the Raiders are in trouble. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo couldn’t go last week, and he’s doubtful for this week. Brian Hoyer got the start last week but played so poorly that Aidan O’Connell had to come on in a mop-up effort. The buzz is growing to fire Josh McDaniels in Las Vegas, so look to the Lions to work out some frustrations.

Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers

When: Sunday, October 29 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC
TV / Streaming: FOX

The Carolina Panthers are still looking for their first win of 2023, and they play a Houston Texans team also coming in off the bye. Bryce Young should continue to improve at quarterback, and the running game should provide more support, as the Texans’ defense has not been ironclad. The Carolina defense is better against the pass than the run, while the Texans’ running game is comparatively weak. There are some rumblings that some sports experts think that the Panthers should have picked C.J. Stroud (who is in Houston) instead of Young, and that noise should motivate him as well.

NFL Parlay Pick: Panthers to cover

L.A. Rams at Dallas Cowboys

When: Sunday, October 29 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
TV / Streaming: FOX

Dallas comes in off the bye to take on a Rams team that will harass Dak Prescott in the pocket, forcing him to make shorter throws. Dallas should take advantage of the Rams’ run defense and some gaps in the short-to-intermediate passing game, but the Rams will get enough pressure to limit the Dallas offense. The Cowboys will also push Matthew Stafford into mistakes, but their secondary can’t hang with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, which means that the Rams will get some big plays down the field.

NFL Parlay Pick: Rams to cover
