Could Super Bowl LV feature a rematch of the very first AFL-NFL championship game, when the Green Bay Packers faced the Kansas City Chiefs? Both teams are 4-0 and are getting terrific play out of their respective quarterbacks. Could the NFL season come to a screeching halt as COVID-19 diagnoses continue to pile up for the Tennessee Titans and are popping up here and there among some of the other franchises? Could Russell Wilson finally win a league MVP award? Could Dak Prescott throw for 6,000 yards, or at least break Peyton Manning’s record of 5,477, from 2013?
Check out the latest rumors as you plan your NFL betting for Week 5 of the 2020 campaign.

NFL Weekly Rundown
The New England Patriots have had a second positive COVID-19 test result come back, as cornerback Stephon Gilmore had his test results come back Tuesday and then had then confirmed. Gilmore played every snap on defense for the Patriots on Monday night against Kansas City, after he had tested negative on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Pats took two planes to Kansas City, with a group on one that had been in close contact with Cam Newton which included Gilmore), and with the others players and staff on the second plane. This test could end up pushing back the team’s Week 5 game against Denver. If he remains asymptomatic, Gilmore must test negative twice, with at least 24 hours between each test, to rejoin the teams. Symptoms would put him into quarantine and out of action for ten days. Newton was asymptomatic as of Tuesday and could return to the Patriots near the end of this week. So far, the Chiefs have had no new positive test results after Monday’s game.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reportedly lost tight end O.J. Howard for the season after an Achilles tendon tear. Howard suffered the injury during Week 4, when Tampa Bay delivered a comeback win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Howard caught a touchdown pass in the third quarter of that game. Through four games, Howard had 11 receptions for 146 yards and two scores. The Bucs also lost Mike Evans briefly to an ankle injury, but he came back and ended up with 122 receiving yards and a touchdown on the day. He took practice off on Monday. Here’s a “fun fact” from the Bucs’ Week 4 win: Tom Brady became the oldest quarterback ever to throw five touchdown passes in one game.
The Houston Texans fired head coach/GM Bill O’Brien after an 0-4 start to the season. The poor results on the field were likely just part of the motivation for the firing; during the offseason, O’Brien had traded All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals for a package that included tailback David Johnson but, even with the other players added in, failed miserably in matching the value that Hopkins brought to the Cardinals. In the wake of that firing have come rumors that Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney would be interested in coming to the NFL and taking the Texans’ job. That would reunite him with former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. When asked in a press conference, Swinney said, “I have not heard from Deshaun and that is not even anything I want to even have to think about,” before turning the conversation to Clemson’s next opponent, the Miami Hurricanes. Swinney and Watson led Clemson to a national championship, defeating Alabama in the 2017 title game. Meanwhile, Romeo Crennel will take the interim head coaching spot for Houston.
