Montreal Continues To Dominate Hurricanes in NHL Betting

Written by on December 4, 2015

Maintaining a high level of play during the 82-game NHL season is incredibly tough to do, especially when injuries start to rear their ugly head. The Montreal Canadiens have been nothing short of brilliant through the early part of the season, but they are going to be put to the test now with Carey Price expected to be up to 6 weeks. They will head to Carolina on Sunday to face a Hurricanes team that is struggling right now.

NHL Betting and Game Preview: Canadiens vs Hurricanes

Date: Saturday, December 5th, 2015 Time: 7:00PM Venue: PNC Arena Opening Line: Montreal -136 Unlike other teams in the league, the Canadiens (19-5-3) are not solely dependent upon a single player for their success. Carey Price is a huge part of this team, but you get the sense that they will be okay without him for a little while. It certainly helps that Mike Condon has been great in relief of Price, and that the offense on this team can make up for the loss of their star goaltender. That said, the Canadiens have lost 2 of their last 3, and will want to stop that little slide before it turns into something much bigger. Montreal has 4 of their next 6 games at home, but they haven’t really had too many issues there or on the road. While their recent form may suggest that they are not playing at their best right now, the 6-3-1 record that Montreal has put together over the last 10 games pretty much says otherwise. This is a game that Montreal should win, but it also has the potential to be a trap game if they come in with anything less than their best effort. Carolina (8-13-4) always figured to be up against it this season, and while they have been battling hard though the first few weeks of the season, it is beginning to look as though that effort is beginning to take a bit of a toll. They are just 2-4-4 in their last 10 games, and have started to leak goals pretty badly. They are coming into this one on the back of 3 straight losses, during which they have given up 13 goals while scoring just 5. They were thoroughly outplayed and outworked by the New Jersey Devils in their last outing, going down 5-1 in a horribly one-sided affair. This recent turn of events must be terribly disappointing for the Hurricanes, as they had been putting in some decent efforts even though it was well known that they were a team likely to be in the hunt for the first overall draft pick next year. Fans can only hope that this is not the beginning of a perilous slide to the bottom. hurricanes-nhl-hockey-betting-odds

Canadiens vs Hurricanes Betting Prediction

Montreal has won 8 of the last 10 meetings against the Carolina Hurricanes, and it’s tough to see any way that they won’t win this one, too. Montreal look like a sure bet here, with the -1.5 looking like a pretty solid bet.
