Western Conference NHL Odds: Chicago or Anaheim?
The Blackhawks entered the 2014-15 season as one of the teams at the top of the bookies list of favorites, and they certainly came out looking very strong indeed. That all changed when Patrick Kane went down with an injury that would keep him out for a large portion of the regular season. Their odds of winning the Stanley Cup dropped dramatically when the bad news was delivered, and they dropped even further as Chicago struggled to maintain any sort of consistency with their star player out of the lineup. It was later revealed that Kane would return for the postseason, but the feeling was that he would come back rusty, and that the Blackhawks would continue to struggle.
