Nong-O vs Jonathan Haggerty brings a contrast in styles between Haggerty’s quickness and use of evasive maneuvers and Nong-O’s steady forward pressure. Nong-O likes to bring volume, using moves to punish the body and the legs before trapping them in a corner and delivering enough punishment to get a knockout. Haggerty, in contrast, likes to cut in and out of the pocket and lure opponents into punishment in the form of counterstrikes. Nong-O has more of a plodding, pounding pace, while Haggerty likes faster movement. Whichever fighter gets the pace in his favor will deliver the win.
One reason to like Nong-O is his facility with leg kicks, using outside and inside kicks to punish Haggerty’s legs and slow him down. Haggerty will counter with his elbows, both from the clinch and as part of a spinning counterstrike. He’s used those elbows to break noses and open cuts, leaving damage behind. Nong-O likes to get in close and fight in the clinch, which makes him vulnerable to Haggerty’s elbowing.
Will this fight end in a knockout? Nong-O likes to bring big bombs and end fights in the corner. Haggerty added muscle when he jumped up from flyweight to bantamweight, for the purpose of adding finishing power to his striking game. Both of these men can absorb a great deal of damage, but they can also both bring it.
Bet Nong-O vs Jonathan Haggerty!
In the other fights, Halil Amir vs Maurice Abevi gives us Amir’s attempt to keep his #4 ranking in the ONE lightweight ranks. He demolished Timofey Nastyukhin, the one-time world title challenger, in his last fight, and now the knockout specialist will try to ruin Abevi’s debut with ONE. Amir has an 8-0 record and has finished his opponent in all eight of his wins. With a victory, he would likely jump to the top of the ONE lightweight rankings. However, the potential reward for Abevi is also immense, as taking down one of the promotion’s up-and-coming fighters in his debut would make an excellent bullet point on his own resume as a contender.
Bet Halil Amir vs Maurice Abevi!
Bokang Masunyane vs Hiroba Minowa is likely the gateway fight for the next ONE strawweight championship bout, with the winner likely to get a title shot against current champion Jarred Brooks. Masunyane, ranked second, and Minowa, ranked third, will bring plenty of excitement to the fight.
Bet Bokang Masunyane vs Hiroba Minowa!
