Bundesliga Odds & Bayern Munich Betting Lines to Win 2024/25 Season

Bundesliga Title Race: Bayern Munich vs. The Rest – Odds and Analysis

What are the Bundesliga Odds for this Season 2024/25? Last year, Bayer Leverkusen finally shook the nickname “Neverkusen,” rolling to a surprising Bundesliga title for 2023-24.

In most sportsbooks, they enter the new season as the second sports betting choice behind Bayern Munich, historically the dominant team in Germany’s first division.

Bayern currently have odds to win the Bundesliga at -204, suggesting that the betting world expects them to have little trouble getting back on top. Matches begin on Saturday, August 24, when Bayern head to Wolfsburg for the opener.

Der Klassiker, which pits Bayern against Borussia Dortmund, will make its first appearance this year on November 30, with the return fixture set for April 12.

September 29 will mark Bayern’s first showdown with Leverkusen.

Let’s break down Bayern’s chances to reclaim the Bundesliga crown.

UEFA Soccer Betting Lines: Can Bayern Munich Win the 2024-25 Bundesliga? | Soccer Odds

New Coach Bayern

The biggest change in Munich is the name of the manager, as Vincent Kompany has come on instead of Thomas Tuchel.

Kompany arrives with heavy expectations – and with some early skepticism.

Despite the fact that most of the senior players on the roster are still coming back from vacation, Kompany has been a hands-on manager in practice, stopping and teaching when needed.

Bayern New Players

He hasn’t been just a taskmaster, though. The warmups for practice have music playing, in order to boost morale ahead of the coming work.

Kompany has also taken a different tack during the transfer window. His predecessor would go to the media talking about what the team needed – in particular, last season, a defensive midfielder.

That led to some tension in the room, but it’s also helped that Bayern has picked up significant talent swiftly. They brought in Joao Palhinha from Fulham to fill that midfield spot – one of the most competitive ball-winners in Europe.

Michael Olise has come from Crystal Palace to add an option at attacking midfield and winger as Kingsley Coman’s injury issues and Thomas Muller’s combat with Father Time have taken their toll. Olise can either carry the ball or pass it to make plays.

Hiroki Ito came over from Stuttgart, and he should mesh well with Kompany’s focus on ball progression.

He’s a left-footer who can play center back or fullback, and his passes from deep were impressive last year and should continue to move the ball for Bayern.

Bayern Offensive Stats

Offensive execution was an issue for Bayern last year. From open play, they had 68.14 xG, which led the Bundesliga. Leverkusen, the league champion, only mustered a 57.35 xG metric.

Having Ito in the back to make progressive passes along with Palhinha should allow the attacks to have even more penetration and balance.

On the defensive side, Bayern signed Eric Dier to aid in the defensive organization and communication.

Improvement is still needed in that area, particularly in terms of vulnerability to transitions.

Kompany’s Idea

Kompany made an interesting statement last week in that he said he doesn’t have a “system” for his team to follow, instead focusing on flexibility.

His program seems to be working – at least on the basis of a 14-1 win in their opening preseason friendly.

However, their opponents were ninth-division FC Rottach-Egern. While that might seem dominant, though, it is much less so than their 27-0 win over the same side to start the last preseason, and the fact that they conceded a goal at all.

It’s true that Bayern didn’t have Harry Kane, Thomas Müller, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich, Jathijs de Ligt, Leroy Sané, Dayot Upamecano or goalkeeper Manuel Neuer as all of them are still resting from Euro 2024.

They followed that up with a 3-0 win over fourth-division FC Duren on Saturday.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting got a brace, scoring in the 24th and 75th minutes, bracketed around a goal from the spot thanks to Thomas Muller. The defense proved tighter as well.

Last Season

Bayern did not hoist a single trophy last year, finishing third in the Bundesliga.

They open against Ulm in the first round of the DFB-Pokal on August 16; between now and then, they have a pair of friendlies against Tottenham Hotspur, in Seoul and then again in London.

We know the talent is there; can Kompany manage the talent in the right direction?
