EPL: Manchester United at Manchester City (11:30am ET)

One of the great rivalries in the English Premier League is renewed on Sunday as Manchester United goes across town to take on Manchester City, and City is riding high after delivering a 6-1 tattooing of Southampton at home on Monday. The scoring opened with an own goal, and then Sergio Aguero (12th minute), David Silva (18th), Raheem Sterling (45th + 2 and 87th) and Leroy Sane (90th + 1) all found the back of the net. They sent 18 shots, eight on target, and possessed the ball for 68 percent of the game. With a 91% pass accuracy rating for the game, City looked like a precision machine in this tune-up for their derby. Manchester United delivered an impressive road win over Bournemouth, 2-1, a team off to a terrific start in the young season. The hosts took an early lead as Callum Wilson scored in the 11th minute, but Anthony Martial made things level in the 35th minute, and then Marcus Rashford pulled out the win for United with his tally in extra time at the end of the second half. Possession was much more even in this match, with Man U holding the ball for 52% of the game and completing 79% of their passes. MLS: Real Salt Lake at Sporting Kansas City (3:00pm ET, ESPN)

These Western Conference foes square off on Sunday in the second leg of their playoff matchup; when they met in Salt Lake City, they drew 1-1, so Sporting KC has the advantage with that road goal at this point. Albert Rusnak scored for the hosts to open things in the 51st minute, only to have Diego Rubio bring things level nine minutes later. Real Salt Lake dominated possession, holding the ball for two thirds of the game, but Sporting KC led in shots (12-10) and shots on goal (6-3). When the teams last met in the regular season, they drew 1-1 in Kansas City, back on September 30. Sporting KC entered the playoffs as the top seed in the Western Conference after knocking off LAFC in the regular season finale, 2-1. That gave them a bye through the knockout rounds to get to the two-leg series, and so they entered with the rest they needed. All they have to do here is play for a scoreless draw or a one-goal victory to advance, so all the pressure is on Real Salt Lake. Soccer Betting Prediction: Sporting KC 2, Real Salt Lake 1

MLS: New York City FC at Atlanta United FC (5:00pm ET, ESPN)

Atlanta United FC comes in with what is a mammoth lead in one of these aggregate-goal series, as they won 1-0 on the road in the first leg, thanks to Eric Remedi’s terrific shot in the 37th minute. That gives them a lead in aggregate goals, as well as the tiebreaker with that road goal, so all they have to do at home is get the draw in order to advance. Remedi had not scored a goal during his MLS career and had just one assist in 13 regular-season games. New York City FC had put together three goals in each of their last two games heading into this series, beating Philadelphia in their regular season finale and then again in their knockout round game, but they could not even send a shot on goal against Atlanta United, who came in holding the second seed in the East. It will take a massive turn of events for Atlanta United to fall at home, and I don’t see that happening given their defense.
