Bundesliga Betting: Dortmund vs Hoffenheim Odds & Pick June 27

For the first time since the Bundesliga resumed play after the COVID-19 hiatus, the full league will have a week between matches, as the schedule is going back to once-a-week games. Borussia Dortmund, currently in second place in the standings, created some distance between themselves and third-place RB Leipzig when they beat them on Saturday, 2-0. Next up is a home date against Hoffenheim, currently in seventh place in the standings, safe from relegation but also far from contention for the UEFA Champions or Europa Leagues. Hoffenheim does roll in with some momentum, having given Union Berlin a 4-0 shellacking on Saturday. This is the last matchday of the 2019-20 season, and Dortmund is locked into second, while Hoffenheim could climb past Wolfsburg into sixth place. Which team will prevail? Don’t miss our sports betting preview. Let’s see how the Bundesliga Odds will be for the Dortmund vs Hoffenheim.

Bundesliga Betting: Dortmund vs Hoffenheim Odds & Pick June 27

Why should you put your money on Hoffenheim?

Hoffenheim took advantage of one of the bottom-feeders in the Bundesliga, getting the scoring against Union Berlin started in the 11th minute, with a goal from Ihlas Bebou. Andrej Kramaric made it 2-0 in the 39th minute, and then Moanes Dabour added a third goal in injury time before the intermission. Christoph Baumgartner made it a laugher in the 68th minute, as Hoffenheim held onto that clean sheet.

The rest of the statistics reflected the domination that Hoffenheim had over the match. Hoffenheim outshot Union Berlin, 13-3 (8-1 on target) and possessed for 58 percent of the game. Things got fairly physical, with 26 combined fouls, along with four yellow cards, three of which went to Union Berlin as they developed some frustration. They were not able to overcome that frustration by moving the ball forward, though, and while Union Berlin remains safe from relegation, they have a lot of work to do before they can be considered a contender.

Why should you bet on Dortmund?

Borussia Dortmund simply looked like the more together team in their win at RB Leipzig on Saturday. While the hosts showed some bursts of speed and made some threats on the goalmouth, they could not break through, and Dortmund just waited for Leipzig to get too adventurous on the back line and took advantage. Erling Braut Haland opened the scoring with a left-footed finish in the 30th minute. Matters stood 1-0 all the way into injury time at the end of the second half, when Haland completed his brace.

Leipzig outshot Dortmund, 14-10, but since most of those shots were from distance, Dortmund had more on target, 7-5. Dortmund possessed for 53 percent of the match. While there were only 20 fouls called, plenty of them were vigorous, with each team drawing three yellow cards. Leipzig forced four corners but could not do anything with any of those set pieces. Dortmund did not show the wire-to-wire mastery that Bayern Munich shows, but they did have adequate control to throttle the offense of a third-place team that had a lot more motivation to win in terms of possibilities in the standings.

Dortmund vs Hoffenheim Final Score Prediction

Dortmund’s place in the standings is set, so it remains to be seen whether they will take out some frustrations against Hoffenheim, after having to settle for second place, or whether they will take things easy while Hoffenheim does what they can to get up to sixth place in the standings. Neither one of those sounds like the utmost in terms of motivation. I see Dortmund using their solid back line to muffle Hoffenheim and then chip away when the visitors make mistakes, as they did against Leipzig. I predict a final score of Dortmund 2, Hoffenheim 0.
