The largest soccer stadium in Italy, the venerable San Siro, will feature a Milan derby this weekend, as its co-tenants, AC Milan and Inter Milan, will square off on Sunday. With over 80,000 seats, this stadium will roar as one of the best derbies in European first league soccer will get underway. This is the second meeting for the sides in Serie A play this year, as Inter Milan won AC Milan’s “home” match, 2-0. AC Milan took place in the ICC tournament last summer as part of its attempt to return to the top echelon of Italian soccer, and the side has improved in recent weeks. Can AC Milan pull off the upset in front of Inter’s fans? Or will Inter complete the sweep? Check out our sports betting preview before locking in your final wagers.

Why should you bet on AC Milan?
AC Milan has not lost in their last five matches, picking up three wins and a draw. They are currently in a tie for sixth in the Serie A table, with 32 points — but that still puts them 19 points behind Inter, second in the table with 51. Their last match was somewhat of a disappointment, as they played the last 22 minutes with a man advantage but still could not get the tiebreaker. They drew with Verona at home, 1-1, a match in which Verona took an early lead thanks to a Davide Faraoni tally in the 13th minute. Hakan Calhanoglu brought AC Milan level in the 29th minute, but there was no more scoring. Even the red card shown to Sofyan Amrabat in the 68th minute was not enough to get AC Milan the opportunity they needed to pull ahead.
In the match, AC Milan dominated the shooting, 26-7, but just had five shots on target (as opposed to four for the visitors). The Hosts possessed for 61 percent of the game and completed 81 percent of their passes. The teams combined for 23 fouls, but Verona was the team with the physicality, drawing four yellow cards and that aforementioned red. AC Milan brought offensive pressure, forcing nine corners — but it was not enough to push through for the win.
Why should you put your money on Inter Milan?
Inter won for just the second time in their last five matches, setting for draws in the other three, as they picked up a 2-0 win at Udinese last Sunday. Romelu Lukaku brought an end to a scoreless match in the 64th minute and then completed the brace just seven minutes later, converting from the spot.
The stats from this match were fairly even. Inter possessed for 58 percent of the match and outshot the hosts, 18-16 (8-1 on target), as Udinese settled for a lot of shots from distance. Inter completed 87 percent of their passes. Overall, the match was not particularly physical, as the teams combined for just 26 fouls, although each side did get a pair of yellow cards. The action was fairly even until Inter finally broke through the Udinese back line and then forced a foul a few minutes later to get insurance for the win.
Final Score Prediction
It would be nice for AC Milan to continue improvement with a win over their more successful stadium-mates, but the fact remains that Inter is still far above AC Milan when it comes to offensive firepower. I see the game staying close for much of the way, but then I see Inter taking advantage of a crucial breakdown in the Inter end and prevailing, 1-0.
