Why should you bet on Inter Milan?
Inter Milan went into halftime of their derby with AC Milan looking like they were going to be the victims of an upset. Ante Rebic opened the scoring for AC Milan in the 40th minute, and then Zlatan Ibrahimovic slotted home a second goal in injury time at the end of the first half. However, Inter must have had a volcanic speech from their manager during the intermission, as they dropped four goals in the second half. Marcelo Brozovic tallied just six minutes after the break, followed by the equalizer from Matias Vecino just two minutes later. Stefan de Vrij put Inter ahead in the 70th minute, and then Romelu Lukaku added the exclamation point in injury time.
For the match, AC Milan had more shots (17-16) but Inter had many more on target (7-2). AC Milan possessed for 57 percent of the game and had a slight edge in passing accuracy. AC Milan got frustrated as time went on, committing 13 fouls to just six for Inter. However, Inter drew four yellow cards, as opposed to just two for AC Milan — not surprising given the nature of their rivalry. That second-half comeback should give Inter plenty of momentum going into this away fixture against another Serie A contender.
Why should you put your money on Lazio?
Lazio also picked up a win last week, heading to Parma and taking a 1-0 win. The match was scoreless until shortly before halftime, when Felipe Caicedo found the back of the net in the 41st minute. That was all the offense the visitors would need.In the match, Lazio outshot Parma, 23-19 (5-4 on target) and possessed for 54 percent of the game. Both teams were well above 80 percent in terms of passing accuracy, and the pressure was just about even, with Lazio forcing six corners and Parma forcing seven. The match was physical as the teams combined for 23 fouls and five yellow cards. Given Lazio’s status as a contender, now 21 points clear of Parma in the Serie A table, the narrow difference in the game is somewhat of a surprise. If Lazio cannot get a little more going as far as plum scoring chances, they will have a hard time against Inter.
Lazio vs Inter Final Score Prediction
This is the reverse fixture of an earlier match at San Siro in Milan. Inter won that match, 1-0. Both teams bring considerable skill, and given how tight things are at the top of the Serie A table, this is really a must win for both teams. I expect to see cautious approaches on both sides, and given the fact that neither team has shown the sort of defensive lapses that would lead to mistakes, it would not surprise me either to see a dual clean sheet or a goal apiece. I predict a final score of Inter 1, Lazio 1.
