Baez should have maximum effort going as he enters this event as the high seed and with last year’s championship.
However, Baez didn’t do well in 2023 on hard courts, making his win here a bit of an outlier. Shang or Cerundolo could easily benefit from chaos.
The bottom half of the bracket is more difficult, even after second-seeded Jack Draper withdrew.

Busta did well in Cincinnati, ousting Sebastian Korda and Max Purcell before losing to Alexander Zverev.
Michelsen finished as the runner-up in the Newport tournament, a quarterfinalist in Washington DC, and a successful qualification up in Cincinnati.
