Halle Open: Betting Preview & Favorites for the 2024 Tournament

Don’t miss the ATP Halle Betting Odds! | With the 2024 French Open in the books, it’s time for the professional tennis world to start preparing for the grass courts at Wimbledon. The Terra Wortmann Open is an ATP 500 event that runs from June 15-23 at the OWL Arena in Halle, Germany.

Out of the PIF ATP Rankings, eight of the Top 20 players in the world are in the bracket: Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Hubert Hurkacz, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Bublik, and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Bublik returns as the defending champion, as he needed three sets to eliminate Andrey Rublev in the singles final. Check out our Tennis betting predictions for this week’s clash.

Alexander Bublik

Let’s start with Bublik, the Kazakh who came out of nowhere to win the Terra Wortmann Open a year ago and has remained in the top 20. He also picked up a title in Montpellier earlier in 2024 but is still waiting to get a break in the majors.

In Stuttgart, he had to retire at the quarterfinals of a grass event due to a foot injury, so we will see how that affects his play this week.

Hubert Hurkacz

Hurkacz won this tournament two years ago and remains in the ATP top ten. He beat Medvedev convincingly in the final of that 2022 tournament, so the tennis world knows what he can accomplish on grass. He also won his first clay title earlier this year, taking first at Estoril.

Jannik Sinner

Sinner is the new top-ranked player in the world thanks to Novak Djokovic’s withdrawal at the French Open quarterfinals. Sinner has never won a grass event; last year, he came up against Bublik earlier in the bracket, but had to retire due to injury.

Alexander Zverev

Zverev is still the top player in Germany, but he has yet to win a Terra Wortmann Open. He’s not at his best on grass, but he got to the final here in 2016 and 2017. He got to the finals of the French Open, and if he can retain that form, he will go a long way this week.

Alexander Medvedev

Medvedev, as mentioned above, made the final in 2022. Grass isn’t his best surface either, but he has the serve to make a deep run here. He hasn’t made a final since early March, when he got to the championship match at Indian Wells, only to fall to Carlos Alcaraz.

Andrey Rublev

Rublev has gotten to the final twice, in 2021 and again last year. Both of his losses in the championship have come in upset fashion as Ugo Humbert shocked him three years ago and Bublik pulled off the upset a year ago.

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Tsitsipas is looking to make it past the round of 16 at the Terra Wortmann Open for the first time in his career. Auger-Aliassime is already headed home, having to retire due to injury against Dominik Koepfer.

Matteo Berrettini

Another interesting player is Berrettini, the Italian who went down with an injury in 2022 and has taken a long time to recover. However, he did roll to the final at Wimbledon three years ago, so he has the right tools for tennis on the grass, and he made it to the final at Stuttgart.
