Cage Warriors is a London-based MMA promotion that had its first event back in July, 2002. The promotion has had numerous big MMA stars fight under its banner at one time or another, including the likes of Conor McGregor, Gegard Mousasi, Michael Bisping and Dennis Siver. Cage Warriors 122 is set for March 20, 2021, from London’s York Hall. The headliner is a fight for the Cage Warriors Featherweight Championship between Morgan Charriere and Jordan Vucenic, and the co-main event is a lightweight fight matching up Davide Martinez against Paddy Pimblett.

Cage Warriors 122 Preview
Main Card
Morgan Charriere vs Jordan Vucenic (Cage Warriors Featherweight Championship)
Paddy Pimblett vs Davide Martinez (Lightweight)
Brian Bouland vs Liam Gittins (Bantamweight)
Tobias Harila vs Aidan Stephen (Lightweight)
Corrin Eaton vs Jean N’Doye (Featherweight)
Nicolas Leblond vs Darren O’Gorman (Flyweight)
Tom Mearns vs Yassine Belhadj (Lightweight)
Nathan Fletcher vs Michele Martignoni (Bantamweight)
Morgan Charriere (16-7-1) vs Jordan Vucenic (7-1) is Charriere’s first defense of his title after capturing the vacant belt at Cage Warriors 119. In the main event, he delivered a body-shot knockout of Perry Goodwin in the third round to take the belt. Vucenic earned a shot at Charriere by taking down Paul Hughes, a previously unbeaten contender, by split decision, also at Cage Warriors 119.
Ahead of the fight, some of the buzz has come from Vucenic styling himself as the underdog and dragging Charriere for his robust social media presence. Vucenic has called Charriere a “French Jake Paul” and accused of him, at least indirectly, of spending more time building a YouTube following than actually training. Given that Vucenic threw up some red flags in his split-decision win, I’m going with the champion to speak with his fighting.
Final Prediction: Charriere wins via knockout
Paddy Pimblett (15-3) vs Davide Martinez (8-2) marks Pimblett’s first trip into the cage in more than a year. He will face a fighter on a roll when Martinez brings his six-bout winning streak to York Hall. Pimblett has not won more than one fight in a row since 2016, alternating between wins and losses. However, his last fight, at Cage Warriors 113 in Manchester, was a real exhibition. He only needed a single round to finish Decky Dalton.
Martinez makes his Cage Warriors debut with a reputation for stamina – and for bringing bombs. Of his eight professional wins, three have come via TKO/KO – and all in the first round. The other five wins have come on the cards. It will be interesting to see which fighter comes in hungrier – and which can unload the big bombs first.
Final Prediction: Martinez wins via knockout
Brian Bouland (9-3) vs Liam Gittins (6-1) gives us a fighter who has split his last four fights in Bouland. His last fight was a unanimous decision loss to Chris Miah back in December 2019. His last win came two years ago, as he beat Cory Tait in a split decision. His last win via finish came at Cage Warriors 94, when he took down Josh Reed via TKO/KO.
Gittins last fought in December 2020, taking down that same Josh Reed with a triangle choke to deliver a submission win. He lost to Jonas Magard almost a year ago for his first setback as a pro, going down via unanimous decision. Bouland has more experience in MMA and prefers to stay on his feet, but Gittins has won via submission as well as via TKO/KO in his career, showing power on the mat as well as in the striking game.
Final Prediction: Gittins wins via TKO/KO
