Gilbert Burns +151 vs Sean Brady -188

Burns (22-7, 15-7) vs Brady (16-1, 6-1) is Brady’s second chance at a breakthrough since entering UFC in 2019. He started building his skills in the wrestling game, and he showed an ability from the beginning to outlast his opponents. He ground out wins over Court McGee and Ismail Naurdiev and followed that up by submitting Christian Aguilera and Jake Matthews in dominant fashion to get into the rankings.

This guy beat Michael Chiesa on the cards in 2021, but the fact that he wore out late and his striking looked a little soft showed the problems to come. A year later, Belal Muhammad exploited those weaknesses and beat Brady handily. Since then, Brady has spent two years coming back from injuries, with the exception of a solid submission win over Kelvin Gastelum.

Gilbert is similar to Brady in that he used to be a fairly one-dimensional wrestler who took time to build a solid striking technique. His talent on the mat in his early days was apparent, but he couldn’t get quite enough done to get submissions, and he looked unsteady in the striking game. He got a chance in 2019 to fight Alexey Kunchenko up at 170 pounds, and his superior cardio allowed him to bully Kunchenko all night long. He progressed to being the top challenger for Kamaru Usman in the welterweight division.

He lost that fight and then lost to Khamzat Chamaev in 2022, but neither loss was all that damaging due to the close nature of both fights. In 2023, he ran over Neil Magny and then edged out Jorge Masvidal on the cards before taking on Muhammad on short notice – and failing to last long. He then took a break, but things had not improved on his return after Jack Della Maddalena finished him in the third round. Burns has probably lost his shot at another title fight. He looks like the next gatekeeper, though, and he still should have enough to outlast Brady and win on the cards.

UFC Betting Pick: Burns wins via decision

Natalia Silva -319 vs Jessica Andrade +248

Silva (17-5-1, 5-0) vs Andrade (26-12, 17-10) is the chance that Silva has awaited – a shot to break into contender status. When she entered UFC in 2022, she had done well regionally, but those wins had come primarily against iffy competition. Once she entered the Octagon, we learned about her speed, which she used to dismantle Jasmine Jasudavicius.

Her decisions have gotten her in trouble, such as when she opted to grapple with the stronger Tereza Bleda. However, she can land damage and escape trouble. Her February victory over Viviane Araujo was her first flat win, but it was also the first time she faced someone with comparable cardio to her.

Now Silva takes on a former UFC Strawweight champ in Andrade, who comes back up to flyweight for this showdown. She entered UFC as a bantamweight 11 years ago, but it took a cut to 115 pounds to unleash her power. She brings big bombs and is one of the strongest fighters in her class. She dropped Rose Namajunas on her head to get a short stint as champ in 2019. She couldn’t get a strawweight title fight so she went to 125 pounds to challenge Valentina Shevchenko, falling short in that title fight.

She bounces back and forth between those two weight classes, including a terrific win over Lauren Murphy at the start of 2023. She followed that up with three straight losses, raising concerns about fatigue. However, she dismantled Mackenzie Dern to finish the year and beat Marina Rodriguez on the cards at UFC 300 in April. She won that split decision by landing enough damage to compensate for the lack of range she had. Silva is faster than Andrade, and she should be able to get more points.

UFC Betting Pick: Silva wins via decision

Cannonier vs Borralho Odds

The premier MMA promotion returns to Las Vegas this weekend as UFC on ESPN 62 is set for Saturday night, action you should not miss for your UFC Fight Night Betting.

Jared Cannonier, the one-time UFC Middleweight champion, squares off with Caio Borralho in a middleweight fight as the main event.

In the co-main event pits Angela Hill against Tabitha Ricci in a women’s strawweight showdown.

The Ultimate Fighter 32 middleweight and featherweight tournament finals are also on the main card.

We have the full fight card with you along with sports betting suggestions to help you add to your wagering profits.

UFC Fight Night Betting Cannonier vs Borralho Odds & Preview | MMA Odds

Jared Cannonier +206 vs Caio Borralho -260

Cannonier (17-7, 10-7) vs Borralho (16-1, 6-0) is Cannonier’s latest attempt to get a win and insert himself in the title conversation once again.

He entered UFC as an undersized heavyweight before dropping to light heavyweight, where he was just mediocre.

Once he dropped down to middleweight, though, he found himself able to dominate his peers.

He’s been too strong to wear down up close, which means opponents have to deal with his powerful striking game. His technique wasn’t good enough to beat Robert Whitaker or Israel Adesanya, who both outfought him on the cards.

However, wins over Sean Strickland and Marvin Vettori put him back in the title mix. His last fight was in June against Nassourdine Imavov; it was going well through three rounds, as he seemed slightly ahead on points.

Still, Imavov dealt him a shot early in the fourth that appeared to stun Cannonier, and the referee issued what seemed to be a very early stoppage. He needs a win against Borralho, though, to move back up for a title shot.

Borralho has spent three years working his way up the middleweight ranks in UFC, with four decision wins and two stoppages.

His striking game has power, but he has to absorb a lot of damage. We saw this when he had to eat some bombs before coming back to beat Michal Oleksiejczuk and when he came back to knock out Paul Craig.

Craig wrestling game focuses on control, and Cannonier’s takedown defense isn’t always the best.

However, Cannonier can get out of trouble and take control on the ground. Borralho needs to finish this quickly to win, or Cannonier could end up wearing him down.

UFC Betting Pick: Cannonier wins via decision

Robert Valentin -170 vs Ryan Loder +138

Valentin (10-3) vs Loder (6-1) gives us a violent fighter in Valentin, as he’s all about bringing pressure with little regard for defending himself.

At some point, he’ll run into a fighter who makes him pay dearly for this oversight, but so far, he hasn’t encountered real trouble.

His striking game is powerful but a bit on the basic side. His grappling game, though, is surprisingly agile and vicious.

Loder has a collegiate wrestling background, which explains why he likes to take things to the ground.

He has shown some knockout power and has some decent striking maneuvers, but that’s usually just a prelude to the takedown.

He has a long frame, so the potential for growth is higher, but he’s already 33. He could turn this fight into a grind, but Valentin is all about movement and energy.

UFC Betting Pick: Valentin wins via submission

Kaan Ofli +162 vs Mairon Santos Alves -202

Ofli (11-2-1) vs Santos Alves (13-1) is Alves’ shot at a UFC deal. He’s only 24, and he already has a solid striking game and the ability to bring bombs, although that’s about all there is to his fighting right now.

Dan Argueta was able to get him to the ground in one of his more notable pre-UFC fights and wrestle him into submission pretty easily.

Ofli used his wrestling ability to progress through the bracket on The Ultimate Fighter, although he has also shown decent striking in his regional fights.

Will he have enough striking here? This is an upgrade in opponent, so that’s a good question, but we expect Ofli to focus on the mat here.

UFC Betting Pick: Ofli wins via decision

Whittaker vs Aliskerov Odds

Ready for UFC Fight Night Betting? This weekend, UFC on ABC 6 will take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The main event was supposed to feature former Robert Whittaker, the winner of The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes (welterweight division) and the former UFC Middleweight champ, against Khamzat Chimaev. Chimaev had to withdraw due to illness, and Ikram Aliskerov was bumped back a week to take Chimaev’s place.

In the co-main event, Sergei Pavlovich and Alexander Volkov will square off in a heavyweight fight. The main card will be broadcast on ABC with the prelims on ESPN, or you can stream the whole night’s action on ESPN+.

Read on to get the full fight card and our sports betting predictions on the top two tilts.

UFC Fight Night Betting Whittaker vs Aliskerov Odds & Preview | MMA Odds

Robert Whittaker -154 vs Ikram Aliskerov +126

Whittaker (25-7, 16-5) vs Aliskerov (15-1, 2-0) is Aliskerov’s shot at what would be a big step up with a win. The only pro fight he has ever lost came against Chimaev.

His UFC debut was a win over Phil Hawes, who managed to fight off Aliskerov’s bullying style, but all that meant was that Hawes left his defenses open for a big bomb, and Aliskerov delivered a knockout blow.

Aliskerov’s only other UFC fight came in October as he didn’t need much time to beat Warlley Alves in October.

Ikram Aliskerov looked like he would get a laugher against Antonio Trocoli a week ago, but Chimaev’s withdrawal actually brought both of those fighters to Saudi Arabia, and now Aliskerov could become a contender with a win.

Whittaker is becoming more of a gatekeeper than a contender himself because of recent losses, but the only way out of that role is to pick up wins.

He started out trying to cut down to welterweight but really prospered once he decided he would be happy as a middleweight near the end of 2016.

He knocked out Derek Brunson and Ronaldo Souza and then beat Yoel Romero to take the interim belt. After the retirement of Georges St. Pierre made the belt vacant, Whittaker received the real deal.

Ikram beat Romero in a rematch to defend the belt and had several other defense bouts fall through before losing the title to Israel Adesanya.

Physically, he’s starting to slow down, and each big hit he takes seems to do more damage.

When he lost to Dricus Du Plessis just about a year ago, we saw that Whittaker struggled against fighters who were simply willing to blend persistence and power.

Aliskerov likes to start with a bullying style, and if he can overwhelm Whittaker early, that could cause the main event to end quickly. However, if Whittaker can survive the storm, he should be able to start stacking points and wearing Aliskerov down.

Fight Night Pick: Whittaker wins via stoppage

Sergei Pavlovich -246 vs Alexander Volkov +195

Pavlovich (18-2, 6-2) vs Alexander Volkov (37-10, 11-4) could actually help either of these fighters get into the heavyweight title picture.

Volkov has seen his career get off the mat recently; in his early UFC days, his height and stamina allowed him to shut down most of his opponents.

Derrick Lewis ended that run with a knockout in 2018, sending him into gatekeeper status.

He developed a reputation of wearing fighters down with his consistency, although a listless win over Marcin Tybura, followed by a first-round submission loss to Tom Aspinall, suggested that he might be on the way out.

However, he bounced back, finishing Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Alexander Romanov and Tai Tuivasa. He was set to take on Jailton almedia a few weeks ago until UFC paired him with his training partner and fellow Russian, Sergei Pavlovich.

Pavlovich drew Alastair Overeem in an unkind UFC debut and got finished quickly, but his career has only risen since then.

He got an interim title shot against Aspinall at UFC 295, but Aspinall knocked him out in just 69 seconds. Pavlovich’s style is to get the brawl going, so this fight should have energy from the beginning.

Volkov could use his wrestling to get through Pavlovich’s iffy takedown defense, but Pavlovich should be able to deliver a big bomb first.

Fight Night Pick: Pavlovich wins via knockout
