The New York Liberty’s quest to become the WNBA’s next superteam is still in flux, as they coughed up a 19-point lead and lost on Sunday. The Las Vegas Aces are the last unbeaten team, with a 6-0 record. The Connecticut Sun are off to a hot start despite losing their top score and rebounder from a year ago. The Sun host the Aces twice this week, so we’ll see if the Connecticut start is for real. Alyssa Thomas has at least 10 points, 10 boards and five assists in five of the Sun’s first seven games of the season, including a 16-16-9 game on Friday. Let’s break down three primo WNBA betting matchups for the coming week.
WNBA Betting Analysis for Games of the Week
Las Vegas Aces at Connecticut Sun
When: Tuesday, June 6 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Mohegan Sun Arena, Connecticut
TV / Streaming: League Pass
Can the Aces make 2023 a perfect season? No WNBA team has ever done it, but the Aces look solid after that 6-0 start. A sign of a team’s resilience is its ability to come through adversity and win, and they picked up two tough wins this weekend, getting a late Chelsea Gray jumper to put the dagger in Atlanta, a 92-87 win. They had to come back from 10 points down to stop Indiana, 84-80. A’ja Wilson had 27 points and 10 boards in that win.
The Sun had a big week, stopping Indiana, Minnesota and Dallas. The defnse has been the key, as we saw on Sunday, when Connecticut held Dallas’ Arike Ogunbowale to just eight points and just 3 of 16 shooting. Tiffany Hayes has meshed well after coming over from Atlanta in the off-season. Sun to win.

L.A. Sparks at Seattle Storm
When: Tuesday, June 6 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle
TV / Streaming: CBS Sports
The Sparks prevailed in an exciting 99-93 overtime win in Phoenix on Friday behind 26 points from Lexie Brown, who set a career high. The Sparks weren’t fazed by the extra time on the floor (or the travel on a back-to-back), returning home to beat Seattle on Saturday, 92-85, behind 27 points and 14 boards from Nneka Ogwumike. The Sparks have two losses on the young season – but they are both against Las Vegas.
Jewell Loyd knocked down eight three-balls on a 37-point night in that loss in Los Angeles on Saturday, and it wasn’t enough. She has put up 28.8 points per game for the Storm, but without a lot of help around her, it’s hard to see Seattle putting up a lot of wins this season. Sparks to win.

Phoenix Mercury at Dallas Wings
When: Wednesday, June 7 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: College Park Center, Arlington
TV / Streaming: League Pass
Phoenix only had one game last week, that overtime loss to Los Angeles at home. Center Brittney Griner continues to shake off the rust, and she has boosted her scoring average to 22.0 points, and she also has 8.0 boards per game. When she plays in Dallas, she will be 90 miles from her alma mater (Baylor), so expect that arena to be loud for the road team.
A 3-1 start is now a 3-3 campaign for the Wings, but they are getting solid play from forward Satou Sabally, who is putting up 22.2 points and 10.7 boards per game. The Wings lost at Washington and Connecticut to wrap up last week, but they now get five of six at College Park Arena, where they are a perfect 2-0. Wings to win.
