Must Bet NFL Picks & Predictions for Week 10

Written by on November 7, 2017

The divisional races in the National Football League are getting more interesting with each passing week. Dallas knocked off Kansas City at home on Sunday to keep pace with division-leading Philadelphia, although they would need to sweep the Eagles to ensure that they would win in a tiebreaker. The Oakland Raiders barely survived the Miami Dolphins to stay afloat in the AFC West. The New England Patriots will need to win to stay a game ahead of Buffalo, who took a drubbing at the hands of the New York Jets last Thursday. Take a look at our primo NFL picks matchups for this coming weekend, along with the latest NFL odds. As always, home teams are in all caps.

Must Bet NFL Picks & Predictions for Week 10

Sunday, November 12

DETROIT (-12) over Cleveland (1:00pm ET, CBS)

Detroit comes home after delivering a 30-17 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football to take on a Cleveland team that remains winless coming out of the bye. Frankly, the Browns are in a shambles, as DeShone Kizer is the anointed quarterback of the future — for now — but he has been benched multiple times this season already. The Browns have a defense that is opportunistic but young — which means that they get torched. That’s not good with the Detroit Lions coming to town. The Detroit defense relaxed a little bit after halftime against the Packers, who had backup quarterback Brett Hundley running the show. Ameer Abdullah showed some unusual signs of life in the running game (although he did fumble twice in the red zone), and Matthew Stafford was brilliant hitting receivers down the field. Detroit needs every win they can get to contend in the NFC Central now, and I see them using Cleveland to make a statement and fix any snags that remain in their execution. So, Detroit should be part of your NFL picks

N.Y. Jets (-2.5) over TAMPA BAY (1:00pm ET, CBS)

The Jets sit at 4-5 but looked dominant on both sides of the ball in their win over Buffalo last Thursday. One lesson that we have learned is that we should take Thursday night results with a grain of salt, especially with the road team, because of the exhaustion that comes from having to play on Sunday and then turn around and travel somewhere Thursday. But Josh McCown looks impressive leading the Jet offense up and down the field, and the pass rush is getting after quarterbacks. Are the Jets a safe bet in Week 10? Tampa Bay looks set to start Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback this week, as that AC joint injury in Winston’s shoulder has kept him from moving the ball at all — the Bucs had scored 13 combined points in their last two games prior to their loss to the Saints, and they have now lost five games in a row overall. The defense has struggled because of the disparity in time of possession, and I don’t see Fitzpatrick doing anything to change that. I see the Jets picking up their fifth win of the season here.

L.A. RAMS (-11.5) over Houston (4:05pm ET, CBS)

Houston will come to town starting Tom Savage at quarterback, with Deshaun Watson gone for the season thanks to an ACL tear he suffered in practice. With Savage at the helm this past Sunday, the Texans lost at home to the Indianapolis Colts — who also have a backup quarterback running the offense, in Jacoby Brissett. The Rams just went to New York and hung 51 points on the Giants, two weeks after delivering a 33-0 shutout win over the Arizona Cardinals in London. The Rams haven’t lost since falling at home, 16-10, so Seattle back in Week Five. Jared Goff looks to be coming into his own as a second-year quarterback, and Todd Gurley looks rejuvenated running the ball as well. The defense is playing well under coordinator Wade Phillips. I see the Rams delivering a big road win over the Texans, as the Rams look to be one of the teams heading for a bye in the NFC playoffs. This is a game you definitely need to put in your NFL picks.
